Since the enactment of Colorado Amendment 64, adults aged 21 or older can grow up to 6 cannabis plants (with no more than half being mature flowering plants), privately in a locked space, legally possess all cannabis from the plants they grow (as long as it stays where it was grown). You can have 3 flowering and 3 non-flowering plant. A plant is considered anything 8 inches in height or above.

Washington State’s initiative 502 legalized non-medical, recreational use of marijuana by people 21 years of age or older. However, only licensed growers, called “producers” under the law, can legally raise pot plants

Space Requirements:

You will need at least a 4ft x 4ft space w/ 7 feet high ceiling, which is about the size of a standard closet.

There are 2 options for building your room, a DIY option, or a pre-fabricated grow tent.

DIY:

10x25ft of reflective plastic to protect your plants from contaminants and reflect more light, leading to larger plants.

<iframe style=”width:120px;height:240px;” marginwidth=”0″ marginheight=”0″ scrolling=”no” frameborder=”0″ src=”//ws-na.amazon-adsystem.com/widgets/q?ServiceVersion=20070822&OneJS=1&Operation=GetAdHtml&MarketPlace=US&source=ss&ref=as_ss_li_til&ad_type=product_link&tracking_id=emarrec-20&marketplace=amazon&region=US&placement=B018VI71GS&asins=B018VI71GS&linkId=0bbf83d4a04a5f42cb76f443324ce490&show_border=true&link_opens_in_new_window=true”></iframe>

And a staple gun to attach the plastic to the walls and ceiling:

<iframe style=”width:120px;height:240px;” marginwidth=”0″ marginheight=”0″ scrolling=”no” frameborder=”0″ src=”//ws-na.amazon-adsystem.com/widgets/q?ServiceVersion=20070822&OneJS=1&Operation=GetAdHtml&MarketPlace=US&source=ss&ref=as_ss_li_til&ad_type=product_link&tracking_id=emarrec-20&marketplace=amazon&region=US&placement=B005O1MN0A&asins=B005O1MN0A&linkId=a9647679bf5df59b153794e53cc8c91c&show_border=true&link_opens_in_new_window=true”></iframe>

If this isn’t going to be a permanent grow then remember you will have to patch the staple holes when you take your grow down. We’ve done this multiple times, and the staples leave very small holes, so it’s usually easy to repair the walls with spackle.

<iframe style=”width:120px;height:240px;” marginwidth=”0″ marginheight=”0″ scrolling=”no” frameborder=”0″ src=”//ws-na.amazon-adsystem.com/widgets/q?ServiceVersion=20070822&OneJS=1&Operation=GetAdHtml&MarketPlace=US&source=ss&ref=as_ss_li_til&ad_type=product_link&tracking_id=emarrec-20&marketplace=amazon&region=US&placement=B00UY39TZ0&asins=B00UY39TZ0&linkId=eb130ec592b05bc761a8ee988dd0c972&show_border=true&link_opens_in_new_window=true”></iframe>

OR the pre-fab method: A Grow Tent

<iframe style=”width:120px;height:240px;” marginwidth=”0″ marginheight=”0″ scrolling=”no” frameborder=”0″ src=”//ws-na.amazon-adsystem.com/widgets/q?ServiceVersion=20070822&OneJS=1&Operation=GetAdHtml&MarketPlace=US&source=ss&ref=as_ss_li_til&ad_type=product_link&tracking_id=emarrec-20&marketplace=amazon&region=US&placement=B019J3FPQC&asins=B019J3FPQC&linkId=5fbdf45da02cb985e136dda1a77c6116&show_border=true&link_opens_in_new_window=true”></iframe>

A grow tent costs a few more bucks, but they don’t leave holes in the wall, and they can be set up anywhere.

Soil:

Organic Growers Starter 6-Pack

OR

4, 7, & 10 Gallon Grow Kits

 Ventilation:

Ventilation is a necessity for indoor growers, why? Because without proper airflow it’s likely the cannabis plants will get scorched by the heat or create a hotbed for insects to breed.

Air Conditioner-Whynter 12,000 BTU Dual Hose Portable

Hydrofarm Active Air 6 inch In-Line Fan 400 CFM

Room Condition Monitoring:

Essential the most successful indoor growers, are those who closely monitor their room conditions, and essential become masters of environmental controls. That’s why I recommend keeping a close eye on your temperature and humidity through this inexpensive clock:

COCO LCD Alarm Clock / Calendar / Thermometer / Humidity

Masking and Purifying Smell:

This may not be necessary if you have your own home, and don’t care who know’s you are exercising your right to grow cannabis. But if you would rather stay friends with your neighbors and not risk everyone within a quarter mile knowing your grow, then buy a carbon filter. It’s worth the investment to have clean, fresh air for the plants as well. Typically you will want to change out the filter approximately every 4-6 months

Phresh Filter 701010 550 Cubic Feet Per Minute Carbon Air Filter, 6 by 24-Inch

Optional But Recommended:

C02 Tank & Regulator

Keeping you room at a consistent ____ of carbon dioxide will help ensure you plants are as beefy and frosty as possible.
